The NDAPA has received some e-mails and requests to share with you regarding COVID-19 opportunities to assist.  One is from the North Dakota Primary Care Office within the North Dakota Department of Health and the second is a  Press Release for RVs4MDs To Fight Corona Virus which is a nonprofit organization that matches Frontline Healthcare Providers (Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists and First Responders) with RV owners willing to lend their RVs for free so the Providers and First Responders can self-isolate themselves away from their families during this Crisis.

First, the North Dakota Department of Health has two data bases you, as providers, may sign up on if you are interested to assist in the fight of COVID-19 in North Dakota.  Two registration processes are established for healthcare professional which include the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and the Workforce Coordination Center (WCC).

  • The Medical Reserve Corps is designed to have a pool of health and medical personal to recruit and deploy for a specific mission, typically deployed as a team to an emergent situation. This program has been in existence since 2002 and used to call up volunteers to respond to in-state and out-of-state missions.
  • The Workforce Coordination Center (WCC) was established to create a pool of potential workers and volunteers that can be available to help as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. The WCC provides an online request for assistance to be made by facilities, businesses, and agencies that are needing to hire and fill a position.

Potential workers that want to be hired by a facility for a specific position, should register with the Workforce Coordination Center. Those that are interested in being deployed to respond to an emergent situation should register in Medical Reserve Corps.

Register for the Medical Reserve Corps at https://www.ndhealth.gov/EPR/HP/PHEVR/ and/or the Workforce Coordination Center at https://ndresponse.gov/covid-19-resources/get-involved-how-you-can-help/workforce-coordination-center.
